No Major League baseball games occurred on October 4, 2010, so Babe Ruth would not have had the opportunity to compete.

Almost certainly.

Babe Ruth competed in an era before advanced pitcher and batting techniques analysis, before modern nutritional and sports science.

Even medical science has improved to reduce any injury time and better rehap to prevent slumps on returning from injury.

Furthermore players had far less power during those days to determine what teams and where in the rotation they would play, things that may have made him more comfortable and possibly play better.

Finally, although he only played as a pitcher for one season, he was capable of 90mph fastballs when called upon.

All these reasons suggest he would be competitive in the modern game
