@OrangeJuz

Well, I'm Danish and there's no way we'd ever wear shoes inside. It'd be considered extremely rude.

@OrangeJuz and yehram

Many cultures outside of America consider it rude to wear your shoes past the door, not just asian. It isn't very prevalent in Britain, but my dad has always used it.

Shoes Inside

I think it's just common sense not to wear your shoes inside... I live in Canada and it's just not something you do, especially in people's homes.
I only ever do it if I need to grab something quick and my shoes are clean. o-o;

anyways... where DID piggy banks come from?!

Only HandDrawing, Mar 05, 2011, 02 pm

Piggy Banks

I recall a short explanation on Nickelodeon (back when Pete&Pete was still on) that 'Pyg' was a Grecian clay of sorts used for pottery and jars. People kept their coins in them for centuries, then somewhere around the early days of America they used pigs as a shape for symbolizing the keeping of a pig until it's so big you can slaughter it and reap a huge amount of abundance, which is what piggy-banks were used for (and were still made of 'pyg' clay too, I think).
