The duck is so adorable, suddenly asking a question like that :D

I think the current world record is at 67890 digits. My math lecturer told us of a Japanese man who recited it all the way to 100 000 digits, but it's never been verified.

Ryuchael, Mar 15, 2011, 06 am

googling...

looks like the current record is held by, Akira Haraguchi!

A Japanese (how Ironic...) man, 59 years!
Wow 83,431?!?! he can make an elephant envious!

Pokeymans! I'm waiting for the third version before gettin' one.

In other news, my brother could do 100 digits at some point.

LazyChocobo, Mar 15, 2011, 03 pm

D'aw... This is the only consolation those kids have right now...

FluffyShem, Mar 15, 2011, 05 pm

I've only memorized up to 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105.
I love reciting pi to people just to freak them out. xD

@Ryuchael

FITTING. How fitting. Or appropriate. It would only be IRONIC if there were some stereotype that stated the Japanese were terrible at math.

Though honestly, straight up memorization has little to do with math skills anyway.
