The Great Potoo, I just love saying that name. The Great Potoo. Sounds like a Star Wars villain.

That bird is both scary and majestic as hell.

Question Potoo?

Big Nemo (Guest), Feb 09, 2014, 01 pm

...I actually had to search Wikipedia, to find out that the Great Potoo is for real, not a creative license :-)

(I remember an old article in the National Geographic magazine, by an ornithologist, about... the Roadrunner. He told he would do conferences on the subject, and every time some people would tell him, they believed the Roadrunner only existed in Chuck Jones' cartoons!)

The Potoo look kind of like a owl but are related to Whipoorwill's,Nighthawks,Tawny Frogmouth and Nightjars once called Goatsuckers from the mistaken idea the drank the milk from goats these Birds are entirely insect eaters
