Banksy graffiti!

Wow, this webcomic is such a treat- I'm so happy I stumbled across it, and thank you for drawing it so beautifully. My older brother does a lot of traveling all over and he's not always home, and the guy from the comic reminds me of him a lot. So everything about 'Question Duck!' is very heartwarming. Thank you again for making such a great comic. :)

It grows on the south side in the southern hemisphere. :P

Moss doesn't care if it's on the north side, south, west, or east. All it cares about is getting the most shade.

I LOVE THIS COMIC.

Because less sunlight gets to the northern part, therefore not only is it shaded by wetter than the south side of the tree. Maybe more rain comes from the north too? I'd have to look that one up.

Being from the monsoon area of Oregon, and a Boy Scout, I can tell you that is a horrible lie. Trying to orienteer via moss navigation would get you horribly lost in the Oregon rainforest. It might be true in some parts of the world, but not here. :)

Because it grows on all sides of trees.

Note that the question does not ask why moss *only* grows on the North sides of trees
